Infrastructure as Data for Kubernetes

Apache 2.0 Open SourceKubernetes Native OperatorMySQL BackedSSA Field ManagementBuilt-in Prometheus & Grafana
Category
Infrastructure as Data, Kubernetes Operator
Business model
Open source project currently; likely to monetize later via managed service, enterprise features, or support
Target audience
Platform engineers, DevOps/SRE teams building multi‑tenant SaaS platforms or dynamic infrastructure that originates from a database of record
Opportunity score
55/100

A novel approach to database‑driven Kubernetes management with strong safety/observability, but niche market and unclear monetization limit immediate score.

Founder verdict
MAYBE

A well‑designed, open‑source solution for a niche but real problem; commercial viability depends on finding a market willing to pay for safety and convenience beyond the free tool.

What is Lynq?

Lynq is an open-source Kubernetes operator that continuously reconciles database rows into Kubernetes resources using Server-Side Apply. It transforms a MySQL table into a dynamic control plane — every row where `is_active` is true becomes a managed node, templated into a full set of resources (Deployments, Services, Ingresses, etc.) via LynqForms. Safety is built in with per-resource policies for conflict, deletion, and creation; dependent resource ordering via a DAG; and rollout control with maxSkew. Observability includes Prometheus metrics, a Grafana dashboard, and alert rules. The project targets platform engineers who want database-driven, event-driven infrastructure automation without custom pipelines.
